Fully Charged: Electric Bicycles sales outnumber Electric Vehicles by 1000%
We hear so much about electric vehicles every day, and whilst electric bikes seems expensive compared to standard bikes, the sales of electric bikes make EV sales look insignificant! There are around 200 million electric bikes already in use. One in three bicycles sold in Germany are electric, one in five in France, one in six in Spain, one of every two in Holland, and in the US one in every 100. I've seen one in Cape Town...
Generally, they have assisted riding so you pedal lightly. Speeds are not very fast but this usually means no licenses or road taxes, and ranges can be up to as much as 160km but down to 50km with full power assist mode.
