Finer details of improvements to Android Wear 2.0 Two key improvements under the hood will make make differences to end users: 1. Watch face complications (Non-time details) - apps can supply data to the watch face, and the watch face can now display this extra data in the style of the watch face. Previously this all had to be hard wired in by the watch face developer. 2. Standalone watch apps - apps now can access the Internet directly from the watch (using the phone's Internet) instead of communicating via an app on the phone. This has major implications for iOS users as a phone app is no longer required. This is also the reason why there is also now a Google Play Store on the watch itself.
