Ekurhuleni libraries initiate e-book system According to the City of Ekurhuleni, the e-book, an electronic version of a printed book, can be borrowed by library members electronically for a period of two weeks. The system will automatically retrieve the e-book thereafter for other users to access it. The online books can be downloaded for free by punching in the library membership number after typing in the link http://ift.tt/2ax4Z9I. What I like about it, is that it has an easy to use app that will work on mobile phones and tablets (the medium that just over 50% of South Africans use to access the Internet), which means after the book has downloaded (from say a free government WiFi hotspot), it can be read offline. It also looks like they have a nice collection of books available including even Gary Taubes' Why We Get Fat. That is pretty up to date! They also have support for audio books I see.
