I generally find XDA Developers a very hand-on type publication, and I’ve long been using their forums too for Android custom ROM assistance, so I usually enjoy reading their particular “best of” articles. Too many publications list “best of” based on just sales numbers or feature numbers.

Not being an Apple fanboy publication also means that an iPhone is not automatically placed first on the list. Apple has some excellent things going for it, but it is an incremental improver and often lags on true innovation. Sites like DXOMark will also show honest ranking for iPhone cameras. However, there is no denying where the Apple Watch stands, and that does reflect in the article.
