Seeing friends and ex-colleagues flooding onto Telegram now from WhatsApp - Did you know Telegram has bots for managing help desk and other interactions?

It is certainly a wake-up call to Facebook that their users don't really need them or Whatsapp as there are good alternatives available, and I'm impressed to see so many users putting their words into action.

Telegram (yes I know there is Signal, Briar, Wire,Threema, and others) has some particular strengths around large group management, 100% deletion, silent or scheduled sending, channels, and also its bots.

There are numerous automated bots to automate all sorts of things that allow end users to interact via the bot. The one linked below is just an example, so I don't endorse it specifically. This one performs a help desk function. Most bots are free to use but as Telegram has APIs you can also get any developer to develop a custom bot for your organisation, or because many existing ones are open source, you can have it adapted to even integrate with your existing trouble ticket system. Telegram also works without a phone, so even desktop users can use the services.

I set up a Telegram channel for myself and have a free RSS bot fetching my blog posts from my RSS feed and posting them in my Telegram channel - no programming was required.
