Bundled Notes is an innovative freeware alternative to Google Keep which shows Big Tech is not always so sharp on innovation over time

Yes Google Notes has not changed much over time apart from gaining location alarms, and its tags are a bit cumbersome to work with.

These younger developers working on their own come up with far more usable organisation solutions, and I like the combination of how the bundles, tags and kanban functionality all works together. Google Keep has long needed bundles or collections.

On the minus side this is not open source software, nor (I think using some common cloud folder for syncing), and there is a monthly or annual cost if you want to exceed 6 bundles or more than 400 notes per bundle. Also, the native app is Android only so other devices would use a web app would actually work much the same. But there is no web access without the Pro upgrade. The $17.99 pa is a bit steep for me though.

Still they have a sub-Reddit for active engagement with the dev and of course we know Google often shuts down its services at any time so that free route is likely not there forever either.

Key though is it shows how Big Tech tends to just rest on their dusty laurels and of course they have the money to provide services for "free" so we "keep" using them although they are not the best apps around...
