Especially with Linux you don't often find a GUI application that gives you such full control over the webcam. This application will manage multiple webcams, allow various effects to be applied, share desktop views, and create a virtual webcam output so that what is seen, can be fed into a Zoom or other web conferencing services.
Note the effects though do not extend to AR or avatar type effects and are mostly filter type effects. But it is still great for doing all sorts of fine adjustments to your webcam, or for being able to share a desktop when the web conferencing software does not offer that feature.
