How to check your commute in Google Maps - With finer control over Commute to/from Work settings too
And of course Google just changed the UI about a week back to confuse everyone... Google has long had work/home places but now you can state specifically what days you commute to work, and when you need to get there by, and what time you normally depart from work (these won't help shift workers). There are also some refinements for public transit commuting as well as now adding a commute button to the home screen.
For ad-hoc drives though I still find Waze's "later" navigation very good.
