Sorry, the headphone jack isn't coming back. And it's going to be okay. Really.

Up to Bluetooth v4 we had pairing issues as well as some stuttering but with Bluetooth v5 things have gotten better - not perfect yet but bandwidth is a lot faster, battery life is a better, and pairing is way better. True that due to size (for small earbuds) you're going to get 10 or 15 hours continuous playtime. But you have no cables to store or snag of door handles or other obstacles.

The point is that Bluetooth is getting good enough to go mainstream so we'll see more phones ditching the 3.5mm jack to save space. I would not overinvest in wireless earbuds though as, even with expensive Airpods, the batteries start to go after 2 years and you need to replace them.  Also, I did not like the plain wireless version as the connecting cable used to snag on my neck when I turned my head whilst driving.

Perhaps the biggest reason to stop the complaints about the headphone jack is that it just ... isn't coming back. Just like the removable battery, the physical home button and so many other hardware features, we're past the point of no return with the headphone jack.

Hate to have to break it to you, but it's the reality of the situation. The headphone jack is gone from phones, and it isn't coming back — and we'll all be okay, I'm certain of it.
