Google Search already offered quite a powerful search functionality for podcasts as it was apparently also able to search the content of podcasts, now you can see episodes in the search results and click to play from there.
To date I had not been very impressed with Google's earlier attempts at their podcast player but I now see it appears to have some of the bare essentials I can't do without ie. faster speed play and syncing progress across different devices. Their podcast player could be usable now.
