Both "invented" by Gillette: Which Do You Believe To Be The Best?
Interestingly enough Gillette invented the safety razor at the turn of the last century but once their patent expired everyone started manufacturing them using a standard shape blade and profits tumbled for Gillette, who then moved onto cartridge razors and kept tweaking their design to ensure the patents never ran out.
Both these razors are the very best in their class.
The one on the left is a solid stainless steel artisan safety razor by Rex Supply Co using standard double-edged blades. The one on the right is made from plastic composite materials by Gillette and uses Gillette's proprietary multi-blade cartridge blades.
On the left, the razor is expensive with a lifetime warranty but blades are really cheap, and on the right, the razor is relatively cheap but the blades do cost quite a bit more.
