SineSpace - a virtual 3D world that looks more modern than Second Life
Second Life has been around a long time and has had some really wonderful worlds created in it but its interface and technology has become a bit jaded. SineSpace has been around a shorter time and I'm not sure how many regions/worlds are created yet but its interface is a lot more modern (and even has a browser client. But its avatars default to mesh which means everything looks and fits better.
You can also buy lots of skins, accessories, vehicles, etc. Best of all though (and unlike Second Life) each avatar gets its own home area with a home on all ready to customise and make your own. With Second Life you had to rent your own land or apartment and would lose it if you stopped paying.
SineWorld is also VR enabled!
So on the face of it, this has a lot going for it and may be a lot more fun for people to try out.
