Can a Passenger land a modern jet Plane? Presented by Captain Joe
The finding the knobs and buttons part is just one part of the flying, the more serious problem was establishing the initial communications for a passenger that knows nothing about the cockpit, and as Captain Joe says, if a plane is flying in US airspace and is not responding for 20 minutes, there may be a jet fighter scrambling to shoot it down... Add to this the stress of actually being in the situation and we can see it is a tall order.
This is of course if you made it through the armoured door in the first place... I suppose that's why they have two pilots in the first place! The video shows an Airbus A320 simulator landing.
