We're driving to an electric future, but how do we keep the kettle on? UK National Grid says there will be enough electricity
Before many scoff at this, just think back to before 1905 when there were no filling stations dotted around countries for gasoline powered cars... or when the first mobile phones came out and there were only a handful of towers. Most wondered if cell towers or filling stations would ever be built out in rural areas, and yet as demand grew, industry responded and today they are everywhere.
Those who scoff forget the lessons of the past that you can apply to most early technologies. When you see every car manufacturer committing to produce EVs (some promising earlier dates than others) and governments setting end dates for new ICE vehicles, that tipping point is approaching within the coming ten years. It's no longer a debate about 'if' but rather about 'when'.
