Xmarks Features: Overview

How to sync bookmarks between Vivaldi Browser and many other browsers Whilst you live within the Chrome or Chromium ecosystem all bookmarks sync fine using Google's bookmark sync, and whilst Chrome runs on most platforms, you may want to venture outside a bit. For example I'm using Vivaldi browser and it has no bookmarks sync yet. I thought a 3rd party sync tool may be better as the bookmarks are synced into my browsers (in case the 3rd party service dies one day) and this will also sync between different instances of Vivalidi that I may run. A limitation though is that this sync may not extend to mobile browsers themselves as they have limited extension support. I looked at Eversync and XMarks which were bubbling up to the top (considering that Pocket does not integrate with the actual browser bookmarks). Funny thing is I started out with Eversync and as I was finishing this post, it convinced me to rather go with Xmarks after all! Eversync is free to sync up to 15,000 bookmarks and syncs between Chrome, Vivaldi, Firefox and IE browsers, as well as to apps on Android, iOS and Windows Mobile.By syncing to Chrome browser, this will effectively in turn sync to Chrome on Android or iOS too. XMarks is owned by LastPass. Its standalone cost is $12 per annum. If you already have LastPass Premium then it only costs an extra $8 per annum. But there are a few reports of it shredding Chrome's bookmarks. XMarks does however sync to Chrome (and Vivaldi), Firefox, IE, and Safari on desktop, and Adroid, iOS, Dolphin and Blackberry browsers which Eversync does not do. It can also sync open tabs between browsers and have named profiles (eg. one set for work and another for home). It can also (with Premium) sync to the bookmarks in the actual Android, Dolphin or Firefox mobile browsers. More info at http://ift.tt/1j9r85l. So for now I'll be using XMarks for a while and see how it goes. If anyone… http://bit.ly/2ly96D4
