Gin Tasting at The Woodstock Gin Company in Cape Town This company is situated right next to the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock, and they make their Gin (as well as tonic water) on the premises. A tasting costs R50pp and they will show you where they make the Gin and also tell you about the Gin and how to drink it with extras such as apple, orange peel, cinnamon, etc. If you buy four or more bottles the tasting is free. So our group of five ended up buying 5 bottles and we did not pay for the tasting. They also make their own tonic water which is not as overpowering as some of the retail outlet ones. Other extras are Gin spices to add like tea bags to your drink and very nice gift packs. Be warned though that the Whisky Cask Aged Gin is not normally part of the tasting nor included in the gift packs. We did manage to get some to taste and ended up buying two bottles of it - really smooth with a subtle Whisky flavour. Cape Town can be really proud of its Gin (yes there are more places), and just around the corner at the Old Biscuit Mill is also a chocolate factory called Cocoa Fair... you don't want to miss that either!
