The difference between Google Now and Google Assistant Not new, but a pertinent article seeing that Google Assistant is now rolling out to millions of devices in the coming weeks. Note that the switch is a server side flip, so it is not something you install. In fact, if you have Google's Allo app installed, you can play around with Google Assistant right now. Also interesting to note is that Google's Assistant is not phone or OS specific (unlike say Siri) and it is probably the biggest Google upgrade that is not dependent on mobile carriers (the update is not delayed and then pushed out later by your mobile carrier).
