USB Audio Recorder PRO - supports hi quality external mic recording I bought a Samson Go Mic recently was amazed to find that the OTG USB port on Android seems better suited to video, file storage, etc than for external microphones. Not only do most apps not detect the microphone, but the USB driver also restricts the sample rate and audio quality. So one way around was to buy an app ($6.71) such as USB Audio Recorder Pro which has its own USB driver which completely bypasses the built-in Android driver. So much so that the playback also bypasses the Android drivers (and speaker) to output to the microphone's earphone monitor. In this way you get excellent recording as well as playback. You can adjust gain levels using the monitor graph before you start recording. It records in WAV/FLAC/OGG/AIFF (No MP3 since that is patented, use OGG for similar quality and compression, or FLAC for lossless audio), and up to 384 kHz sample rate (depending on your audio device). You can also connect other devices such as XLR mics or guitar jacks.
