What Did People Think About The First iPhone? Apple announced its first iPhone ten years ago, on January 9, 2007. En route to world domination, the iPhone has undergone several upgrades — the latest edition, the 6S, was released a couple weeks ago — but we're curious about what people had to say about the OG device, the one that started it all. Many including Microsoft predicted utter failure for the iPhone (the same is more realistically said about Microsoft's own attempts at a phone). Many said it was just look complicated with too many functions (compare that view with Android today where the iPhone is seen as simplistic and easy to use). My first real smartphone was an iPhone 3 until I saw a Motorola Droid a little later on and naturally I wanted far more than the limitations of the early iPhones. Regardless of all that whether we love or hate the iPhone it did usher in the era of proper smartphones, and it is good that we do have strong competition in the market today so that all consumers benefit. The iPhone itself has grown through this competition to provide some options at least that Steve Jobs never wanted to compromise on in the early days. See http://ift.tt/2ia1FoA
