Volkswagen Stashed Hundreds Of Cheating Diesels In An Abandoned NFL Stadium Parking Lot From the article: When the Dieselgate emissions scandal broke, Volkswagen put a stop sale on TDIs and eventually started buying back hundreds of thousands of affected cars from customers. Hundreds of those cars now sit in the abandoned Detroit Lions stadium parking lot, others are rotting on a decommissioned California Air Force base, and thousands are being held at a port in Baltimore. But the big question is what about outside of the USA and Europe? I've not seen or heard any movement within South Africa for example. Were all our TDI's in fact compliant, or is a blind eye being turned until our pollution is bad enough? From http://ift.tt/2jod96R: Volkswagen South Africa in the meantime has released an official statement.Which you can read below. Essentially, even though there are likely vehicles affected locally, customers need not worry because South Africa is way behind with regards to emissions laws. well that sum sit up for South Africa anyway!
