Solar plant adds renewables to Mozambique’s grid A newly-signed power purchase agreement marks the first step in Mozambique's plans to add renewable energy to its power mix. Scatec Solar and Norfund have signed the deal with the state-owned utility, Electricidade de Mozambique (EDM), securing the sale of solar power over a 25-year period. The 40MW plant is located close to the city of Mocuba in the Zambézia Province, and is expected to deliver 77,000MWh per year of much needed electricity to the northern regions of Mozambique.
