Visited Haritons today in Cape Town to buy a hat An amazing collection of hats (and even matching jackets). The owner tells me that all his Panama hats are sold out and he is waiting for new stock, so hats are still selling, and apparently a lot of women come in too to buy hats to make a fashion statement. I was there for a good hour trying everything on, as there is such a variety available. The service is also personal and knowledgeable vs going to a large retailer and seeing only two options of sub-standard quality. I ended up buying a nice grey Fedora hat.
