Ride to Barrydale 7 Oct 2016

Ride to Barrydale 7 Oct 2016 It was my last weekday of leave so I was pretty desperate to get out on the road into the Karoo, even if the weather was a bit grim. The day started out at 14 degrees with one or two light sprinkles of rain on the N2 before I got to Sir Lowry's Pass. Once over the pass it was still coldish but at least clearing (those heated hand grips make a real difference!). I did not have a lot of time today so it was tar all the way with a lunch at the Country Pumpkin in Barrydale. The return trip along Route 62 was a nice windless 22 degrees and I made up for some lost time. Apart from some roadworks by Montagu that caused some delay, it was a pleasant trip with a record number of selfies I took!
