GoldenCheetah Is An Open Source, Private Dashboard for Your Fitness Data

GoldenCheetah Is An Open Source, Private Dashboard for Your Fitness Data There are plenty of excellent apps for tracking your running or cycling data, but using a service like Strava or Runkeeper means you’re giving away a lot data. If you’d prefer to track and visualize your exercise without uploading data to a service, GoldenCheetah might be just what you need. It is available for Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows. It's features and various formats it can read and import are listed at http://ift.tt/2balgwy. If you are a Fitbit user like me, you probably never chose a Fitbit for its openness of data, so we will likely be stuck with what Fitbit offers us on their dashboard. Fitbit does export manually from the website to CSV format so it is possible that some basic data may be able to be imported, however I see many comment that it will not include heart rate info.
