Stellenbosch students develop healthy chocolate spread by Primedia Broadcasting

Nutritious veggie choc spread for kids a healthy alternative A team of innovative food scientists from Stellenbosch University have invented a low-cost nutritious chocolate sandwich spread. According to Shannon Howell, S’Cool Beans group member, the spread is jam-packed with protein and necessary vitamins and minerals needed to ensure the development and growth of children. "We aimed the product at low income kids. I am sure they cant afford Nutella so why don't we come up with a product that is hidden made from vegetables and stuff like that but taste like chocolate spread." — Shannon Howell, S’Cool Beans group member. The proof of course will be in the eating, but it is really good to see healthier options coming to the fore! See http://ift.tt/2acd94Z
